VERONIKA MORSCHER  is an Austrian jazz singer and singer-songwriter. After completing her bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, the musician returned to Europe, where she completed her master's degree in Vienna (MUK) and Cologne (HfMT).

As a member of the Bundesjazzorchester from 2014-2016, the soprano was able to gain experience as an ensemble singer and was immediately fascinated by the many facets of the voice. It was there that she met the three Cologne singers Rebekka Ziegler, Sabeth Pérez and Laura Totenhagen, with whom she founded the band “Of Cabbages and Kings” in fall 2015. As a singer and one of the composers of the cabbages, a member of numerous formations and a singing teacher, she worked in Cologne from 2015-2023. In 2024, Veronika moved to Vienna and is now working as a singer, composer and senior lecturer at mdw Vienna.

In 2017, she won the cultural prize of the jazz section of the state of Vorarlberg and a composition prize for her composition “River, Show No Mercy”. In 2019, she was awarded the Jazzfest Bonn sponsorship prize and in 2024 the Start Scholarship for Jazz in Austria.

LAURA TOTENHAGEN  is a jazz singer, oboist and composer. At the age of five she received her first classical piano lessons, at the age of 12 she took up the oboe, with which she was finally accepted into the German National Youth Orchestra and became a junior student with Prof. Christian Wetzel in Cologne. This was followed by successful participation in competitions, exciting tours through Germany, Switzerland and Austria, playing at exciting concert venues such as the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, Vienna Musikverein, Cologne Philharmonie and others, and CD productions under the direction of Peter Hirsch and Mario Venzago.

However, Laura also became increasingly interested in jazz singing and so she began her studies at the Cologne Academy of Music, from which she will graduate this October. She was a singer in the Bundesjazzorchester under the direction of Niels Klein and Jiggs Whigham and has other bands besides “Of Cabbages And Kings” - such as her quartet “Totenhagen”.

Her classical background and the sound of the oboe are noticeable in her compositions. She is therefore very happy to write for the special line-up of the royal cabbages and enjoys singing and making music in several voices.

FAMA M'BOUP  is a vocalist, composer and performer from Berlin.

Descending from a Senegalese family of musicians and storytellers, she curiously searches for ways to tell the stories of people’s inner landscapes in different projects. With her duo Olicía, she creates looped layers of sounds, as she does in her solo loop project. Together with guitarist Christian Stoltz, she plays own compositions and arrangements of known classics under the name cocotá. Her newest band in June sneaks under your skin with four voices, synths and drums and lets you observe the composer’s inner world.
Fama has joined the quartet of "Of Cabbages and Kings" in fall 2023.
